TC,
THANK YOU for your fine efforts. I hope that this victory will not curtail the fine work you've done for this issue on this web site

Like you, I've noted that here in Maine, Nestle does not "lie", but does not reveal the entire truth. I pointed this on in several letters about the "possibility" of the NAFTA and GATT treaties coming into play. (We've obtained legal opinions to support this conjecture). Nestle posted that neither relates to water "in it's natural state in the ground" which IS true, but once water is extracted it becomes a 'commodity' under GATT and once flow across boarders starts, the "proportionality clause" of the NAFTA could kick in.

Also, there is no guarantee that a water "bottling" operation can not transform into a 'bulk water' company overnight at the whim of corporate leaders. I "suspect" that this is why Nestle is still going after water rights when bottled water sales are falling. No, Nestle would not send in mercenaries to 'take' the water, they would send in the team of lawyers to bankrupt individuals, small communities and states that resisted (in my opinion).

Anyway, you deserve a great deal of the credit for this victory in my opinion, and I hope that you continue for the benefit of the rest of the nation.
